London-based duo Candar were formed when the two left North Devon and found a raw sound in dark, dingy, sweaty clubs. Candar’s unique sound derives from soulful, melodic vocals floating over dirty riffs and messy grooves. Their new catalogue and voracious musical appetite creates a performance that is both wolfish and fragile. 2023 highlights include 2 sets at Glastonbury Festival, national radio play on John Kennedy’s X-posure show on Radio X, a 100 Club London performance & headlining Goldcoast Oceanfest’s Thatchers Haze stage.
The band are working with producers Sean Genockey and Jesse Wood of ReKognition Sound. 2024 will see the follow-up releases to their debut single ‘Turned Blood Red’, with a number of electric tracks recorded at RAK Studios, London. The songs display a commitment to powerful songwriting and recording at the highest level.

Latest Release - Turn Blood Red
Produced by Sean Genockey and Jesse Wood at Echo Zoo Studios, Candar’s new single, ‘Turned Blood Red’, delves into a dark narrative whilst exploring the depths of human desire. The song captures their distinct energy by blending driving rhythm, meaty guitar tones and the evocative tone of powerful yet haunting melodic vocals. This, combined with a ‘punch in the face’ mix by Chris Sheldon (Foo Fighters - Color and the Shape), Turned Blood Red is the perfect song to strut down the street with it blasting through your headphones.
2023 show highlights include a debut at Glastonbury Festival, The 100 Club - London, and headlining the Thatchers Haze Stage at Goldcoast Oceanfest. The duo's live set is a noisy electric concoction of big riffs under moving melodic vocals and messy grooves. Turned Blood Red marks the start of a release schedule of a number of songs developed with ReKognition Sound.
